OPPORTUNITY Individual or teams may register for the opportunity to attend a week of soccer camp with Sunderland FC Youth Academy coaches Wayne Walls and Ian Dipper. Your child and/or team will have access to the Sunderland FC Youth Academy curriculum, experience the same exercises as used at Sunderland FC and be prepared for a successful fall season.

INSTRUCTION Both Ian and Wayne are employed full-time at Sunderland FC; their main responsibility is to ensure players are enjoying themselves while learning the tactical, technical, fitness, and psychological aspects of the game needed to become a professional player.

Also on hand will be Andy Grant and Les Shaw. Andy has worked extensively in elite youth soccer at Chelsea, Sunderland and Hartlepool Academies. He has conducted match analysis on successful team performance for the English FA. Les is the Hartlepool FC Youth Recruitment Officer and an English FC Coach Educator.

COACH EDUCATION Your team coach is encouraged to attend their team's camp in order to receive a level of coaching education that would otherwise be unavailable to them. On Friday evening, the YEC staff will conduct a two hour coaching clinic for the coaches. The clinic will focus on match performance and evaluation as well as preparation for training sessions. Each coach will receive a written evaluation of their team.
